A few good ideas...

I've been reading so many wonderful decorating blogs lately. I thought I would share a couple ideas.

This first idea is our coffee table. I needed a coffee table that was BIG enough for our family room, CHEAP enough the kids could play all over it without cringing but NICE enough for my decorating agenda. So I purchased two tables from IKEA and got out my handy dandy drill and bolted them together.

This project turned out awesome. We have room for books, magazines, blankets, an over sized chess board (hiding under it) and an occasional puzzle.

Here is another project that came about in a desperate situation. I needed a big tree to fill in a large area. So I grabbed an over sized pot and placed two smaller trees in it. It's hard to tell by the picture but the tree is HUGE.

Lastly I would like to share a recent purchase. I normally don't buy from Pier 1 because of the prices but today I thought I would just browse a little. Well, the prices have come down a bit and I just fell in love with this wreath.

Thanks for visiting my blog. Your home is BEAUTIFUL and you have great design sense. I try, just don't know if I succeed. My biggest problem is the ideal spatial relationship that I think is essential in a well put together room. It seems I either go too big or too small. I need to find the just right. I'll be back again for sure for some more ideas.

I have to say I love your solution of bolting the two IKEA coffee tables together to make one big one! Very ingenious. And it looks great.

I was at Pier One yesterday and was surprised at some of the good sales they were having. Didn't see this pretty wreath there, though! -Julia

You smart thing! I would never think to put two together... guess thats why I blog so I can learn from all of you too! I love the wreath on your door. Your house looks so beautiful and clean and put together and decorated and... wait , are you sure you said you had kids? How do you do it? This dollhouse mess has my house in a bad state... Hope you have a good one! Susie H~

Hey, Brandee, love your new wreath & what a great idea on the coffee table. I just visited Ikea when I went to Atlanta this weekend for the first time. They had just opened when I moved almost 3 years ago & I never had a chance to visit. Cool store! I took lots of pics & will be doing an IKEA post soon.
