Lazy Perfection...

We have lived in our house for over a year now.

And for over a year now I have been looking at these pictures like this.

Each and every time I pass these pictures I straighten them.

What is wrong with this picture?

Why is it picking on me?

Is it too much to ask for it to stay in place?

Breath in, breath out, breath in, breath out...

The other day my lovely friend introduced me to these little picture hanging strips.

Have you seen them?

You stick them on the back of the picture frame and stick them to the wall.

Neat huh?

Much better now!

Every time I pass these pictures I still put my hand up to straighten them. It's going to take awhile to get out of that habit. Did you know it only takes 21 days to create a habit and 30 days to change it?

Hope you all have a great week! :-)

I'll have to get some of these. I have a couple of pictures that do this.

I can't wait to see yours and everyone elses fall stuff! It is going to a lot of fun in the blogging world in the next month or so!

Those are so neat! Now why can't I come up with a brilliant idea and make gobs of money? :)

I am forever straigtening the prints on one of our dining room walls. It's the one on the side where the garage is. Everytime the door is raised the pictures go a little wonky. I'll keep this idea in mind!

Thanks!

Hi Brandee,
I wonder why some pictures do that??? I just used some double sided mounting tape on a little wooden plaque with hooks at the bottom. I would hang my keys on a hook and it would tilt...UGG. I put a tiny strip at the bottom and voila it stays put. Now mine doesn't say anything about easy/clean removal....ut oh....

Hi Brandee,
Those will be on my next Walmart or Lowes shopping list!

I have a mirror that does that...I'm always straightening it up just to have it get crooked again.

This is a great tip! Thanks,
Diane

I need to break a few habits of my own.... drinking too much coke... spending too much money at sonic. Love their ice! Old habits are hard to break... I may have to try some of that sticky stuff. I have a few tricky pictures of my own. Thanks!

Those are pretty neat. I haven't seen them before. I have used other stuff to keep the pictures from moving, but this looks nicer. Thanks for letting us know!

Brandee... thanks so much for sharing this much needed tip with us! I followed you over from Rhoda's to say thanks for your sweet comments about my Victorian when I saw this! If you ever look at the film again, check out the paintings next to the door in the upstairs study. The bottom one is ALWAYS askew, and you have just now solved my problem! Yipppppeeeee! Wish I had read this BEFORE we made the video.

Thanks!

Sheila

I've got the same problem. Thanks for sharing. Never knew those existed. Much better than balling up that icky blue stuff that leaves grease spots on the wall;)

If I make you dinner and dessert would you come to my house and fix my pictures, my family wall to be exact! What a great and simple idea, I will have to copy you and do this! Thanks,

I keep all sort of 3m command products in my tool box. They are fantastic.

Thanks for the reminder! I have a few pictures that are always 'askew'... I used to use something that looked like putty to hold pictures in place but it rips the paint off the walls sometimes. I'm going to look for this instead. Cute dog pictures!

Good morning Brandee :)

One of my biggest pet peeves can be solved?? What will be next? Someone to automatically change the toilet paper roll?! ;)

I'm buying these for sure!

You show-off! I've always used blue painters tape, but your idea will probably work way better. By the way I adore the pictures.

I will definitely have to try these on a picture outside my laundry door, everytime we shut it, it goes crooked. Then I sit on the sofa and stare at it lazily.

On another note I just finished Breaking Dawn! I thought it was really good but it sort of fell apart in book three (in my opinion), too much on the Volterri, not enough emotion. I know Eclipse was your favorite but I think mine was New Moon, she touched on human emotions so well that I cried through half of it. It was like my heart was broken also.
My husband is thrilled I am finally finished and I have passed them on to my Mom, we will see if she actually reads it though.

I have a few pictures that lean the same way from time to time. Thanks for sharing the great tip.

Those are great! I always think I'm centering the pictures correctly and without fail I end up having to scoot the "claw hooks" a little to the left, resulting in a slant.

Hello Brandee, thanks for visiting my blog and your comments about the new shelf...I think it will probably change a couple of more times before I get bored with it and move onto the next decorating 'victim'. I was able to visit a few 'decor' shops this weekend in Minneapolis so I have some new ideas. Now I just need to win the lottery so I can afford to decorate the way I want to.
When can I officially start decorating for fall? It is my favorite time of year. I really like the wreath you have on your door.....I think that would look really good on MY front door!
