Welcome Black and Award...

I've been wanting to paint my front door another color. Blue is not in my color palette. In fact, there is nothing in my house that's blue. It's not that I don't like blue, it's just not a color I'm attracted to.

A few weeks ago I saw a post on Marie at Watch The Wind Go By blog. She had a picture of her door and I knew instantly what color my door was going to be.

I also needed some greenery to soften the entryway. So I grabbed some of my old pots in the garage and painted them.

I placed these risers under the pots so I don't get those darn brown rings from the water.

And viola! What do you think?

I think it really makes my wreath pop...as in stand out.

One of my favorite blog friends, Sheila at Life at Number 17 has given me an award.
It's such an honor to receive an award from Sheila. She is my daily dose of laughter. Whenever she doesn't post for awhile, I get antsy. (no pressure Sheila)

I'm not sure the meaning of the award. I'm assuming it says "this blog rocks" or "best blog in the whole wide world" or "blog goddess". Anyone of those will do. ;-)

Hi Brandee,
Your front door looks great! I like it much better than the blue.

The pots painted really set the whole thing off.

Your door looks great! You are a 'blog goddess' in my book!

Hopefully the carpet will dry nicely, luckily there is not padding underneath.

Oh my goodness-I love it! What a big difference.
We got tired of our white door and painted it red...Everytime we drive down our street, I look at my red door & it makes me smile.
After we painted ours red 3 others in the neighborhood painted their doors red~ Too funny! So be watching your neighbors door colors change soon! :)

I am with you on the color blue. I don't dislike it but it is not me. Don't think I own one thing that is blue! Love how the front door turned out. The black looks nice and that wreath is gorgeous!!!

I'm back! Hope you read this! Question: You don't think painting the shelf black would just make it stick out all the more? Oh, and the sign is from Hobby Lobby. You know, it sat propped on top for who knows how long because I was waiting for hubby to put picture hangers on the back and hang it for me. Well one day recently he decided to surprise me and hang it without my help. I didn't have the heart to tell him I wouldn't have hung it so high. Oh well:) I'll take what I can get!
