Model Ideas...

I get so many decorating ideas from model homes. My heart starts palpitating as soon as I enter one.

I always keep in mind that the house was decorated all at once. So everything coordinates...colors, fabrics, furniture. I try not to let this depress me. Let's face it, unless I hit the lotto, I'm not going to accomplish that look.

Here they hung iron over the shelves to bring your eye up. Love iron!

You can also get a ton of window treatment ideas from model homes.

As soon as I walked into this room, I almost fainted. Almost I say! Look at the window treatments and couch. Red is one of my favorite colors. I get happy when I see red.

And look how they placed two coffee tables together. Love this idea!!

Bamboo shades can warm up a room. Look how the added color to the shades. What a simple idea.

I almost walked out with this end table. I could see the nightly news now...lady walks out of model home with stolen furniture...arrested on the spot...what was she thinking, WAS she thinking?

Have you ever seen marble counter tops like these?

This little elephant was a night light. Cute!

This is a cute and simple idea for a kids room.

Well that concludes the tour. Did you get any ideas? Please please let me know if you did. I love hearing from you!

Brandee :-)

That model home is so pretty! My favorite thing was the stuffed animals coming out of those cylinder like things on the wall. So cute and unusual!

I am lusting. Lovely home. I do not do the model home thing for that reason. Thanks for taking photos and posting them. I really enjoyed looking. I loved that marble countertop I wonder how hard it is to take care of?

Great pictures! I have always wanted to check out model homes but worried there would be someone to try to get me to buy. Does that happen?

Okay, I love, love, love that model home. I have lots of red in my home and those colors just always draw my attention. Thanks for the ideas.

Thanks also for stopping by and saying hi. I am a SUPER BIG fan of Twilight. I was one of the geeky moms at the midnight release. I felt really weird, but I wanted my book baaaaddddllllyyy. I actually came home and stayed up til 3 AM reading. My hubby got a little jealous. I am so a Team Edward member.

This would be very sturdy for a cookbook. One of the best I have seen. I am going to Atlanta Market in Oct. If you have not found one by then, I will look for one there.

I paid 17 for this one plus tax. I guess that is a good price. Hobby Lobby would have been cheaper, and I could have used a coupon on a reg priced easel, but they are not as well made as this one is.

Thanks, have a good evening.

I LOVE the idea on the bamboo shades. I have bamboo shades through out and am wondering how I could do that...it would add a splash of color. cherry

I love looking at model homes too but haven't done it in a long time now. Hubby won't take me and we don't have any around our area. We have to go to Dallas or OKC to find homes like that.

I love that last photo with the pink cylinder things with the webkinz looking out. Do you know what those were?? (You know I got a room re-do going on that it would look great in!)

That was all so pretty! I love that iron door in between the kitchen and dining room!! All those window treatments were great too!

I am with you on the "red" color, it too is one of my favorites. I tend to lean towards the "Fall" colors whenever I decorate; I guess that is one reason it is hard for me to decide on that "blue" color with the gold in my guest room.

I also love the bamboo shades, next house.

Up where I am in northeast Georgia, we don't have many model homes to get ideas, just homes with no furnishings in them to look at, but that is still fun too.

I love how everything goes together in model homes but you are right, everything was done at once with a much larger budget than I would ever have. So I guess I will continue to look and dream! Sometimes I feel like my home is mis-matched because I just buy/do things here and there.

Love the marble countertops!

Love the ideas. There are not many decorated model homes in my area, so I love all of the ideas.

Of course, my favorite would have to be the lamp shades on the wall. That will be PERFECT in my daughter's room. Especially since her bedding has polka dots, this will add dots to the wall. Ok, idea stolen, thanks!!! You rock, Brandee!!
